Research

Alexandra’s movement curriculum has been heavily influenced by their residency at Dharamsala’s Subbody Butoh School in 2016, as well as training with Danny Lepkoff in “Moving the Environment”, in 2017. Their research at Knox College on Dysfunctional Breathing disorders serves as a foundation for curriculum designed to engage direct experience of anatomical principles.

Their curriculum has been presented at the International Subbody Butoh Festival of 2016, Bioneers Prairie Fire Convergence of 2017, and the Hobart & William Smith International Somatic and Dance Conference of 2017 (thanks to funding from the Richter Foundation), and the Gaia Gathering in Madison, WI, 2019

With experience teaching improvisational dance in elementary schools, community centers, and public libraries, Alexandra’s curriculum is digestable across age groups.

Spending most of the year practicing bodywork and ecstatic dancing in Madison, WI, they also travel and teach in Chicago and Galesburg, IL
